Trash Pickup

Trash Removal:

County Waste is contracted by the city for trash removal. Your trash is not picked up by the Public Works Dept. with the exception of lawn bags and brush. 

They are now accepting residents phone calls for missed trash pick-ups and trash can requests.  County Waste business office 518-877-7007.

Ask for dispatch for missed pick-ups. 

If you call to replace a broken can the old one must be left to the curb for the swap. 

Thursday is recycling day for everyone in the city.  Your residence has been provided with a single stream recycling container.

Brush, Appliances, & Other Items:

EFFECTIVE JULY 1st 2018 THE CITY WILL NO LONGER DOING CURBSIDE PICKUP OF JUNK ITEMS.

Lawn bags and brush will be picked up curbside on MONDAY'S Weather permitting.

Metal and metal appliances, lawn bags and brush may be brought to the city garage during business hours. 

Mattresses, box springs, televisions and computer monitors are no longer being accepted for disposal.  Mattresses may be disposed of at the Colonie landfill or at the Exit 10 County Waste transfer station.

YARD DEBRIS MUST BE IN DISPOSABLE PAPER BAGS. It will not be accepted if it is not. Do not put yard debris into your trash containers. Monday's are lawn bag and brush pick up day weather permitting. 

IF YOU HAVE WORK DONE BY AN OUTSIDE CONTRACTOR FOR TREE/BRUSH CUTTING THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR REMOVAL.
