City Ordinance requires that all dogs be licensed.

Where to Get a Dog License 

Licenses are available at the Accounts Department / City Clerk’s Office.

When to License Your Dog 

You must obtain a license within 30 days of any of the following:

  • Acquiring a dog that is 4 months of age or older
  • Your dog turning 4 months old
  • Moving into the City of Mechanicville with your dog
  • The expiration of your current dog license

Requirements

  • Proof of current rabies vaccination is required at the time of licensing.

License Fees (valid for 1 year):

  • $10.00 – Spayed or Neutered dogs
  • $20.00 – Un-neutered (intact) dogs
