The City of Mechanicville’s Parks & Recreation Department is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all residents by providing well maintained public spaces and diverse recreational opportunities for people of all ages.

Our department is responsible for the care and management of the City’s parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, splash pad, and other recreational facilities. We work hard to create safe, welcoming, and enjoyable spaces where families, youth, and seniors can gather, play, exercise, and connect with their community.

What We Offer:

• Maintenance and beautification of all City parks and green spaces, including Tallmadge Park, Paul Luther Memorial Park, Tenandahoa Park, Patenaude Memorial Park, Denier Veteran Memorial Park, and more.
• Youth Summer Recreation Program at Park Avenue Playground – an eight week program offering daily crafts, games, activities, field trips, and meals (July and August).
• Splash Pad at Park Avenue Playground – a fun, free water play area open during the summer months.
• Special Events and Community Programming – including summer concerts, holiday events, fireworks, and family friendly activities held at Tallmadge Park and throughout the city.
• Facility Reservations for picnics, family reunions, sports events, and community gatherings (especially at Tallmadge Park).
• Support for Senior Programs through coordination with the Senior Center for recreational activities.
• Veterans Memorials – ongoing care and maintenance of our city’s veteran memorial parks as places of honor and reflection.
