Traffic Safety Committee

The City of Mechanicville Traffic Safety Committee works to make our streets, intersections, and public ways safer for everyone — drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and residents of all ages. The Committee reviews traffic concerns raised by the community and city departments, and recommends practical solutions to improve safety throughout the city.

What We Do

The Traffic Safety Committee is responsible for:

• Reviewing traffic safety concerns and complaints submitted by residents and city officials
• Evaluating conditions at specific intersections, roadways, and neighborhoods where safety issues have been identified
• Recommending improvements such as signage, crosswalks, speed controls, and other traffic management measures
• Coordinating with the Mechanicville Police Department, Public Works, and other city departments to implement safety solutions
• Staying informed on best practices in municipal traffic safety
